Roni and Leo 1983
Date 5744 (1983)
Norman wished that this ketuba be placed in this gallery as he only recently received the original ketuba for scanning. Back in 1983 when the artist made this ketuba for the young Van Assendelft couple, the days of personal computers, digital scanning and digital cameras did not exist. Or rather, not as they are today. He only recently had the good fortune of receiving the original ketuba back in his hands in order to have it professionally scanned and therefore it is now available for couples to order as a giclee in his Online Store.
As you can see, this is a stunning ketuba and very ornate in its decorations to illuminate the text of the ketuba. The young couple wanted a ketuba that had Moorish influences and they hoped for the earth colors.
PLEASE NOTE: This ketuba is available today also as a giclee so you can put your own text. To order this ketuba as a giclee, kindly follow this link to Norman's Online Store.
An amulet adorns the crown. Miniature flowers, very typical in ancient ketubot from the Levantine countries, predominate in the decoration of this ketuba.
